MOLLY PAYTON WARM PAYTON

New Zealand born Londoner Molly Payton has announced details of her new EP Porcupine with its soul-bearing lead single 'Warm Body'. Produced by rising talent Oli Barton-Wood (Sorry, Porridge Radio, Nilüfer Yanya and more), the opening line "He's got a problem so he's just my type" hits hard. Lyrically honest and sonically refreshing, there's a strung-out feeling to the track, which somehow conjures hints of John Frusciant's solo work, Speedy Ortiz and Big Thief all at the same time. Payton explains: “'Warm Body' is about looking for comfort in people when you’re lonely and letting yourself make mistakes. The first time I met my producer Oli-Barton Wood, we wrote ‘Warm Body’ together, and by the end of the day I knew that I wanted him to produce the whole EP. Oli is insanely talented and was so lovely to work with,  and recording ‘Porcupine’ was easily one of the best times of my life." Taking its namesake from a period of time, where Payton's hair dying process resulting in some undesirable results, Porcupine will arrive on the 14th of October. -Holly Mullineaux
